Join our team to collaborate across different engineering areas, solve meaningful challenges creatively and transfer concepts from initial design, through prototyping and testing into real-world solutions.
In this role, you will be at the forefront of market access and surveillance for the China / APAC region. You will not only launch cutting-edge sustainable energy technology by compliance testing in China / APAC but also navigate the complex landscape of China / APAC standards to secure Tesla’s products launch in the future.
Role and Responsibilities
· Track regulation, policy, and standard changes, including China and other regions.
· Introduce regulation and standard requirements to Tesla internal teams including global product compliance team, engineering, quality, manufacturing, sourcing, internal laboratory… working with teams to develop and implement solutions.
· Create and maintain relevant product compliance knowledge base.
· Preparing samples and documents, working with third parties to obtain necessary testing reports and certifications, to ensure entry into the target market.
· Support in production design/components changes
· Support product compliance relevant factory inspection.
· participate in technical communications.
· Represent the company in key standards development organizations (e.g., GB/T, IEC, CENELEC), local / regional technical committees, and industry associations to actively shape future technical regulations.
· Lead and manage local / global certification projects for Tesla's Energy products.
· Clearly communicate test outcomes, key findings, and project status to engineering and management teams.
Requirements
· Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, or BESS related technical field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in product compliance, regulatory, or homologation.
· Proven hands-on experience in a test engineering role within a laboratory or field environment, preferably with power electronics, BESS, or related systems.
· Expert-level knowledge of compliance testing in one or more of the following areas: IEC 62109, IEC 62477-1, UL 1741, as GB/T 34120 & 34133, etc.
· Familiar with basic safety concepts.
· Familiar with general global regulations on BESS product compliance.
· Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with a meticulous, detail-oriented approach.
· Ability to work independently and manage testing projects with minimal supervision, both in the lab and in the field.
· Willingness to travel to external test labs and field sites as required.
