Join our Tax AI & Innovation team and help shape how tax is delivered in the future.
We work at the intersection of tax, technology and artificial intelligence, creating digital solutions that solve real business problems for PwC and our clients. Based in Hong Kong, our team collaborates with tax professionals, technologists and global teams across Asia-Pacific and beyond.
In this role, you will work on a diverse portfolio of internal AI transformation initiatives and external client projects. You will have the opportunity to experiment with emerging technologies, turn ideas into practical solutions and see your work make a direct impact.
What you’ll work on
Support PwC’s AI transformation by identifying opportunities to use AI to improve the way our tax professionals work.
Enable tax teams with next-generation AI tools, intelligent workflows and digital solutions.
Explore and apply technologies such as generative AI, automation, data analytics, low-code/no-code platforms and vibe coding to rapidly prototype and deliver new ideas.
Work with tax professionals and IT specialists to design, develop, test and implement technology-enabled business solutions.
Contribute to client projects involving complex and evolving areas of international tax, including:
Pillar Two and global tax reporting
Global e-invoicing
CRS and FATCA reporting
Tax data, compliance and reporting transformation
AI strategy, adoption and implementation
Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders across China, Hong Kong, Asia-Pacific and PwC’s global network.
Help guide solutions through the full life cycle—from understanding the problem and designing the solution to implementation, adoption and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Work as a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) with business units and clients to understand workflows, identify AI and digital opportunities, develop practical solutions and drive adoption
Translate business needs into clear requirements, process designs, PRDs and solution blueprints
Design and deliver AI-enabled and digital solutions in collaboration with offshore development teams
Research emerging technologies and assess their potential to address business and client needs
Lead testing, issue resolution, implementation and ongoing solution enhancement
Support project planning, maintain technical documentation, promote coding best practices and gather post-launch feedback to drive continuous improvement
Requirements
2 - 4 years of experience in consulting, business transformation, AI, Fintech, product delivery, or tax-related roles
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Tax, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline
Basic understanding of AI concepts and generative AI tools, with hands-on experience using AI tools for tasks such as prototyping or vibe coding
Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn business challenges into practical digital solutions
Strong project organization skills, including coordinating stakeholders, tracking deliverables and managing timelines across multiple projects
Strong analytical, presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative and continuously evolving environment
Fluency in English and Cantonese is required; Mandarin is an advantage
Preferred experience
Exposure to tax, finance or accounting technology, particularly in areas such as:
o Pillar Two
o Global e-invoicing
o CRS reporting
o Other tax reporting, compliance or finance transformation projects
Experience supporting the design, implementation, testing or quality assurance of digital or AI-enabled projects
Familiarity with tax and finance technology platforms such as Tagetik, Orbitax, Avalara or Pagero
Professional qualifications such as PMP, CPA, ACCA or relevant certifications in digital transformation, AI, cloud or data analytics
Junior candidates with strong potential and relevant academic or project experience will be considered for an experienced Associate position.
