岗位描述
Boyd Thermal is now part of Eaton—bringing together two strong teams to serve high-growth markets like AI, aerospace, and data centers. The combination of Boyd Thermal’s advanced thermal capabilities and Eaton’s power-management expertise creates a best-in-class, end-to-end portfolio that improves reliability and speed for customers. Eaton is investing in both the technology and the people to scale globally, marking the start of a new growth chapter. As integration progresses, some employment programs or benefits may change for select employees.
What you’ll do:
• Combine practical welding process management with strong troubleshooting capabilities on the manufacturing floor in a highly hands-on engineering role.
• Support the development of welding technologies for liquid cooling products, driving process improvements, and collaborating cross-functionally to eliminate liquid-leakage risks, maximize yield, and support shop-floor production.
• Responsible for the daily management and setup of welding processes and equipment, including manual/automated welding system programming, parameter tuning, and the active execution of welding quality control.
• Formulate, update, and maintain technical welding documents, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and standard defect failure reports.
• Assist in the evaluation, selection, testing, and technical assessment of new advanced welding equipment to support capacity expansion.
• Design and implement welding process optimization proposals, including creating physical prototypes and aligning internal/external resources for thin-walled stainless steel and copper piping systems.
• Identify and execute technical improvements, torch/fixture adjustments, and automation tweaks to drive continuous improvement in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and first-pass yield (FPY).
• Support the management of the welding consumables and equipment vendor database to ensure stable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply.
• Partner effectively with Process (ME), Production, Quality, and NDT teams, contributing to leakage-prevention, helium mass spectrometry testing, and cross-functional quality improvement projects.
• Support daily workshop welding operations, providing direct hands-on technical demonstrations, troubleshooting, and training for operators and welders.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or above in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Manufacturing, or related technical majors.
• More than 8 years of high-precision piping, pressure vessel, or thermal management manufacturing experience, with strong skills in hands-on manual/automated welding and floor-level defect optimization.
• Must possess strong, hands-on manual welding capabilities (e.g., TIG/GTAW) for thin-walled stainless steel and copper alloys, with a practical mindset for solving line defects.
• Familiar with liquid cooling products manufacturing processes, non-destructive testing, helium leak detection, and international codes (ASME BPVC Section IX, AWS D1.6, and ISO 3834).
• Good cross-functional communication, teamwork, and practical, floor-level hands-on problem-solving skills to reduce thermal distortion and cracks.
• Proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
At Eaton, we don’t just want to offer you a job, but a journey and experience. Our goal is to give you the space to find that sweet spot where your passion meets purpose.
