Job responsibilities:·He/she leads a cross-functional integrated discovery team with functional leaders from Protein/antibody Sciences, Linker-Payload discovery, Bio-conjugation discovery, in vitro characterization, in vivo characterization, Developability study in accordance to discovery phases.·He/she has oversight over functional teams and provide project and portfolio leadership, supporting lead selection for preclinical candidates.·Collaborate with discovery functional areas to ensure successful execution of various integrated discovery projects, and delivery of results on time and within budget.·Coordinate efforts and facilitate communication to ensure alignment between WuXi XDC and clients.·Work with a high-performance team to ensure the best quality services.·Enhance current services and develop new clients.·Lead the scope discussion and proposal review.·Identify the technical risks and provide preventive strategies.·Facilitate cross projects and cross sites sharing and learning.·Participate/lead task force for specific technical topics.Technical Skills / Knowledge:·Candidate should possess strong and effective project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills and have a proven track record working cross-functionally across a wide variety of technical, business and operational areas.·Demonstrates good understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and small or large molecule drug discovery.·Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in early discovery.·Working knowledge and understanding of current industry trends for large molecule and Antibody-Drug Conjugate (ADC) technologies.·Experienced in working in cross functional project teams and in complex environment, experience in project management and risk assessment is a plus.·Experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) is preferred, but not required.·Must have working knowledge of MS Office products.Independence/Accountability:·Must be self-motivated, and highly flexible for on-line meetings necessary with clients and technical teams during evening time.·Must be organized and detailed-oriented.Problem Solving:·Proven experience in creating and carrying out successful plans and processes to solve complex problems.Leadership Activities:·Work closely with team members across all discovery related business units and with the WuXi XDC management team to ensure coordination of all efforts and real-time communication with all stakeholders.Communication Skills:·Proficiency in English and Korean is required, and proficiency in Mandarin is a plus. Being effective to communicate with clients in Korea. ·Excellent communications skills (verbal, written, and presentation skills).Customary Education and Experience:·Master’s degree in biotechnology, pharmaceutical engineering, pharmaceutical analysis, biochemistry, chemical engineering, or related discipline with a minimum of 14 years of relevant experience or PhD with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.·Strong expertise in Biologics and antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) area, with proven experience in bio-conjugation.·Comprehensive scientific background in biotechnology, and/or protein chemistry, and/or small molecule drug discovery, and/or analytics, and/or in vitro / in vivo characterization.·Take responsibility for decisions and accountable for results.
