Job Summary

The Team Lead, VMF and Data, APAC is responsible for leading the regional Vendor Master File (VMF) and Procurement Data Management team across Asia Pacific. This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, governance, and compliance of vendor master data while driving operational excellence, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will partner with Procurement, Finance, IT, Compliance, and business stakeholders to support business operations through high-quality master data management and actionable analytics.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

Lead, coach, and develop a regional VMF and Data Operations team across APAC.

Manage daily operations and ensure timely processing of vendor master requests, updates, validations, and maintenance activities.

Establish team priorities, workload allocation, and performance management processes.

Drive a culture of accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement.

Vendor Master Data Management

Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of vendor master records across ERP and procurement systems.

Maintain strong governance and control processes for vendor onboarding, modifications, and deactivations.

Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.

Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Tax, Legal, and Compliance teams to validate vendor information and resolve master data issues.

Data Governance & Quality

Develop and implement data governance frameworks, policies, and operating procedures.

Monitor data quality metrics and drive corrective actions to improve data accuracy and integrity.

Conduct regular data audits and identify opportunities for process optimization.

Support risk management initiatives related to vendor and procurement data.

Reporting & Analytics

Develop and maintain dashboards, performance reports, and operational metrics.

Analyze procurement and master data trends to identify risks, opportunities, and process improvements.

Provide data-driven insights to support procurement strategy and business decision-making.

Track and report key KPIs, including request turnaround time, data quality, and service performance.

Process Improvement & Digitalization

Lead process improvement and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and user experience.

Partner with IT and system owners to implement system enhancements and data governance solutions.

Participate in ERP implementations, upgrades, and digital transformation programs.

Drive standardization of VMF and data management processes across APAC.

Stakeholder Management

Serve as the primary regional contact for VMF and procurement data-related matters.

Build strong relationships with Procurement leaders, Finance teams, Shared Services, and business stakeholders.

Support internal and external audit activities related to vendor and master data management.

Communicate performance updates, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field.

5+ years of experience in Procurement Operations, Master Data Management, Shared Services, or Supply Chain functions.

2+ years of people leadership experience.

Strong understanding of vendor master management, procurement processes, and data governance principles.

Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, or similar platforms.

Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.

Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.

Fluent English communication skills.

Preferred

Experience supporting a regional or global shared services environment.

Knowledge of procurement compliance, supplier onboarding, and P2P processes.

Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, Power Query, or other reporting tools.

Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement certification is a plus.
