Summary
This is a specialized coordinator role – you will be the direct internal logistics interface at the Thailand plant, responsible for coordinating the entire logistics and import-export activities to support the project. You will directly supervise and coordinate a team of subcontracted/outsourced workers to execute daily warehouse and shipping operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Warehouse & Inventory Management (Receiving &
Material Control)
Goods Receiving: Oversee the receipt of all incoming materials, components, and equipment; verify quantities against purchase orders and delivery documents; inspect for damage or discrepancies.
Ledger Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date warehouse ledgers and inventory records (both physical and in ERP/WMS systems). Perform daily transaction postings for all inbound and outbound movements.
Inventory Accuracy: Conduct regular cycle counts and periodic physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies; ensure high inventory accuracy.
Material Issuing/Kitting: Coordinate and execute daily material kitting and feeding to production lines based on production schedules; ensure timely delivery of materials to point of use.
5S & Warehouse Organization: Enforce 5S principles in the warehouse; ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
2. Packaging & Shipping
Packaging: Plan and coordinate the packaging and crating of finished goods, machinery, and project materials in compliance with Comau global standards and customer-specific requirements.
Shipping Execution: Arrange domestic and international shipments (air, sea, and land); prepare shipping documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
Shipment Coordination: Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
Containerization: Oversee container loading operations to maximize space utilization and ensure cargo security.
3. Import-Export & Customs Compliance
Customs Clearance: Coordinate all import and export customs clearance processes for the Thailand plant; ensure full compliance with Thai Customs Department regulations, BOI (Board of Investment) requirements, and all applicable trade laws.
HS Code Classification: Accurately classify products and materials under the correct Harmonized System (HS) codes.
Documentation: Prepare, review, and verify all customs-related import and export documentation including entry forms, invoices, packing lists, and supporting documents.
Compliance: Ensure operations are in full compliance with customs laws, regulations, and government requirements; maintain proper record-keeping for audits.
4. Subcontractor/Outsourced Workforce Coordination
Team Supervision: Directly supervise and coordinate daily activities of subcontracted/outsourced warehouse and logistics workers (including 3rd-party personnel).
Work Allocation: Assign daily tasks to subcontractors for receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and container loading.
Quality Control: Monitor the quality and efficiency of outsourced work; ensure adherence to Comau standards and safety protocols.
5. Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (production, procurement, planning) to ensure seamless material flow.
Support ad-hoc logistics projects as assigned by management.
Key Performance Indicators & Measures
Cluster Economics: Achieved target figures
Material OTD: Follow-up to ensure on time delivery of purchased material, aligned with the Projects needs, using the PR delivery date, that must be the delivery date aligned with Project needs.
Inventory Count Accuracy: > 99%
Reception Time: ≤ 48hrs
Import & Export Global/Local Tracker maintained as per project request
Stock level reduction: Project stock -8% General Stock -8M rmb
Logistics cost reduction: Saving 5% compared with BCU
Qualifications (Education,
Training, Certification, Licenses, Experience)
Education
Bachelor's degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in logistics, warehouse management, and import-export operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Proven experience in managing Thailand Customs clearance and BOI compliance is mandatory.
Experience supervising or coordinating with subcontractors/outsourced workers.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of Thai Customs regulations, BOI requirements, and FTA procedures.
Proficiency in HS Code classification.
Hands-on experience with Thailand National Single Window (NSW) and e-Customs systems.
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Languages
Fluent in English (written and spoken) – ability to communicate with headquarters and international stakeholders.
Chinese (Mandarin) is a strong plus – ability to communicate with Chinese management and suppliers.
