As a Supplier Quality Engineer working within the Turbine Blades & Vanes Supplier Quality team, you will work closely with suppliers, leading product qualifications/fixed process changes, addressing/containing non-conformances, analysing data, and driving continuous improvement. You will support the qualification of new suppliers and resolve complex manufacturing challenges whilst ensuring suppliers consistently meet Siemens Energy quality and manufacturing standards.
act as the recognised technical authority for casting processes across the global supplier organisation. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional engineering teams, you will support the qualification of new suppliers, approval of process changes, resolution of complex manufacturing challenges, and delivery of engine programmes. You will provide technical leadership in casting technology, drive process improvement, and ensure suppliers consistently meet Siemens Energy quality and manufacturing standards.
This position collaborates with the China Turbine Blades & Vanes Supplier Quality team and works in close partnership with the Quality and Commodity Management teams located in China, Europe and North America, forming part of a dynamic multinational team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Lead cross-functional teams to deliver product and process qualification and changes to fixed processes, supporting suppliers to adhere to Siemens Energy Quality Management processes and standards.
Support supplier development, audits and technical assessments to evaluate manufacturing capability, capacity and compliance. Embed core quality methodologies and engineering concepts internally and across the supply chain.
Drive continuous improvement, process control and yield enhancement using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Lead resolution of non-conformances, root cause investigations and process change approvals.
Provide technical leadership and coaching across the global supplier quality organisation.
What You Bring
Degree qualified Engineer in Materials Science, Metallurgy or Manufacturing Engineering with 5+ years’ experience in a Supplier Quality or Engineering role
Experience and understanding of casting technology and furnace operation, ideally nickel-base superalloys. Specifically, knowledge of investment casting, vacuum casting, single crystal, directional solidification and equiaxed processes would be highly advantageous.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams to deliver product and process qualification and changes to fixed processes, supporting suppliers to adhere to Siemens Energy Quality Management processes and standards.
Working knowledge in quality methods (5 why, FMEA, 8D, RCA) and risk management, with a focus on product functionality, delivery/cost, and resource constraints. Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100).
Experience leading supplier development, technical surveillance audits and assessments to evaluate manufacturing capability, capacity and compliance.
Ability to embed core quality methodologies and engineering concepts internally and across the supply chain.
Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement, process control, yield improvements and resolution of non-conformances using structured problem-solving methodologies.
Commitment, positivity and structured work habits, with a willingness to travel globally as required to support the supplier quality team.
