Imagine applying your transformer design expertise to deliver reliable, efficient, and innovative solutions for customers around the world. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you play a critical role in both offer and order engineering, transforming customer requirements into optimized transformer designs that balance performance, manufacturability, and cost. Working closely with mechanical engineers, manufacturing teams, and technical experts, you contribute to every stage of the engineering process, helping deliver high-quality transformer solutions that support the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Perform electrical design calculations for transformer windings, insulation systems, and magnetic circuits, ensuring designs meet customer specifications and technical requirements.
Optimize transformer designs to achieve the best balance between manufacturing cost, performance, losses, temperature rise, and operational reliability.
Prepare electrical schematics, connection diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing and project execution.
Review customer specifications and support offer engineering activities by preparing technical proposals, identifying deviations, and providing technical risk assessments.
Collaborate with sales and bid management teams during pre-sales activities and support technical clarifications with customers and internal stakeholders.
Ensure all electrical designs comply with applicable IEC, IEEE, and local grid standards.
Work closely with mechanical engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues during production, testing, and project execution.
Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering tools, processes, and product performance.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage Engineering, or a related discipline.
3–5 years of experience in transformer electrical design, electromagnetic design, or high-voltage equipment engineering.
Strong knowledge of transformer electrical design principles, including winding design, electromagnetic calculations, insulation coordination, and loss optimization.
Experience preparing technical offers, engineering calculations, and supporting customer technical discussions.
Familiarity with transformer design calculation tools, electrical CAD software, and ERP systems such as SAP.
Understanding of IEC, IEEE, GB, and related transformer design standards.
Programming knowledge or experience in automation, scripting, or engineering tool development is a plus.
Strong analytical thinking, technical problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams.
Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken, for technical collaboration with international teams.
