Purpose of Job:
Responsible for leading and managing the interior design works of large-scale property development projects from design inception through construction, completion and handover. Manage and coordinate external consultants, architects, engineers and contractors to ensure that the design intent is achieved and the projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Coordinate design, construction, cost and approval-related matters and provide professional interior design input throughout the entire project development process.
Major Responsibilities and Objectives:
Prepare Interior Design Briefs and provide professional input to other relevant Design Briefs.
Manage the tendering, evaluation and appointment of interior design consultants and relevant specialist consultants.
Develop and regularly update detailed interior design programmes and key milestones in alignment with the project master programme.
Review design proposals, tender drawings, construction drawings, shop drawings, technical submissions, materials, samples and mock-ups, and coordinate the required internal approvals.
Coordinate interior design interfaces with architecture, façade, structure, building services, landscape, signage, lighting and other disciplines, and resolve related technical issues.
Conduct technical tender assessments and administer interior design-related budgets, payments, variations, change orders and final accounts in collaboration with relevant teams.
Conduct regular site inspections and implement quality control procedures for materials, workmanship and completed works.
Coordinate statutory submissions and approvals, and identify and address interior design-related technical, programme, cost and construction risks
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and above in Architecture or Interior Design or related disciplines
15 years post-qualification experience in interior design and design management, with substantial experience in large-scale commercial, office, shopping mall, hotel or mixed-use development projects.
Proven experience in leading interior design works through the full project lifecycle, from concept design and design development to construction, completion and handover.
Previous team management or supervisory experience is preferred.
