Senior HR Business Partner Lead - Mass Retailing Business

Our client is a leading mass retail group with a strong presence across Asia. To support ongoing business growth and transformation, they are seeking an experienced HRBP Lead to oversee the Hong Kong and Macau business and drive strategic people initiatives across a large, frontline workforce.

About The Role

Reporting to the Group HR Director, you will lead the HRBP function for the Hong Kong and Macau retail business, partnering closely with senior business leaders to deliver both strategic and operational HR priorities. Managing a team of 3-4 HR Business Partners and supported by specialist Centres of Excellence, you will oversee the full people agenda for a large frontline workforce across massive retail outlets.

This is a highly visible leadership role requiring a strong balance of business partnering and hands-on execution. You will play a key role in organisational effectiveness, workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, change initiatives, leadership development, and driving a positive people culture across both frontline and corporate populations. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic retail environment and be comfortable navigating complexity while influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements

Degree qualified in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related discipline.

15+ years of progressive HR Business Partnering experience, with proven leadership experience managing HR teams.

Strong preference for candidates from mass retail, FMCG, supermarket, food retail, hospitality, telecom, logistics, or other large-scale consumer-facing organisations.

Demonstrated experience supporting large frontline workforces within a multi-site environment.

Strong understanding of the challenges and dynamics of managing diverse employee populations across multiple locations.

Proven ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on and execution-focused.

Commercial mindset with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior business stakeholders.

Resilient, adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-moving, evolving environment.

Experience supporting businesses across Hong Kong and Macau would be highly advantageous.

Strong communication skills in English and Chinese.
