Major Responsibilities and Objectives:
Support the development and implementation of government affairs strategies and initiatives in the Chinese Mainland.
Maintain effective communication with relevant government authorities, support government relationship building, monitor policy and regulatory developments,
Prepare high-quality written materials in both Chinese and English for government engagement and corporate communications purposes.
Major Tasks & Activities:
Assist the Assistant Director in formulating and implementing government affairs plans for the Company’s Mainland China business and key operating cities.
Maintain regular communication with relevant government departments and support relationship-building activities at municipal, district, sub-district and functional bureau levels.
Support government meetings, official visits, project tours and corporate events, including preparation, coordination, briefing, on-site support and post-event follow-up.
Help identify opportunities for constructive engagement with government and community stakeholders through corporate initiatives, CSR programmes, sponsorships and volunteer activities.
Draft and edit Chinese and English materials for government engagement, including but not limited to NPC/CPPCC reports, official correspondence, visit agendas, background briefs, speaking notes, meeting minutes, proposals, project introductions and internal reports.
Support the Assistant Director to prepare internal briefing documents for senior management on government affairs matters, policy developments, stakeholder engagement and potential public affairs risks.
Work closely with internal teams including business development, leasing, retail, office and city project teams to collect information and align messaging.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Administration, Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Communications, Law, Business or related disciplines is preferred.
Minimum 6–8 years’ relevant experience in government affairs, public affairs, corporate communications, policy research, external relations or related fields.
Experience in government departments, a sizable corporation, multinational company, industry association or government-related institution is preferred.
Solid understanding of government operations, policy-making processes and public affairs environment in the Chinese Mainland.
Proven experience in communicating with government departments and external stakeholders; existing government relationship resources or stakeholder network in Beijing is preferred.
Strong Chinese writing skills, with the ability to draft formal government-facing documents, reports, speeches, briefing notes and correspondence.
Good English writing skills, with the ability to prepare bilingual communication materials for internal and external use.
Strong communication, interpersonal and coordination skills; able to work effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Mature, proactive, responsible and well-organized; able to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
